Ron Cooper says Sterling in Glendale, CA helped give him valuable tools to grow and expand his practice.
"Hello! My name is Ron Cooper. I started my own veterinary practice seven years ago in Weeki Wachee, FL. I knew very little about how to organize and run a practice. Consequently, I looked around for available management courses as we received very little information in school. I found Sterling had everything I needed as an aspiring business owner.
"We started in a tiny storefront clinic seven years ago; two years ago we moved into our own 5,000 square foot building. We have gone from one doctor and three staff to two doctors and 15 staff. We average more than 100 new clients per month with our all-time high of 161. My gross has increased 10-fold since starting Sterling in 1995.
"Sterling helped me realize the importance of client service to not only veterinary medicine but all business in general. Through various courses and one-on-one consultation, I learned valuable tools necessary to grow and expand my veterinary clinic. Numerous other successful veterinarians have also completed their programs, and I was able to learn what worked for them and what did not.
"Sterling also offers on-site training for staff. This was beneficial to my clinic as it got all the staff on the same page and wanting to produce at higher levels. Moreover, staff seminars in cities across the U.S. brought our staff together as a team with one goal in mind.
"I have my finger on the pulse of my practice and do not fear making management decisions including hiring and firing. I hope more veterinarians consider this type of training as it is has helped me tremendously."
